Hi, I have try-ed to setup a ipv tunnel whit heartbeat. When i have start heartbeat and try to ping a ipvs adres i see nothing happen. I see in /var/log/messages
Mar 17 07:45:29 phyton kernel: SuSE-FW-OUT-IPv6_PROHIB IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=fe80:0000:0000:0000:4a54:e8ff:fe2a:832f DST=2001:0888:0000:0002:0000:0000:0000:6667 LEN=104 TC=0 HOPLIMIT=64 FLOWLBL=0 PROTO=ICMPv6 TYPE=128 CODE=0 ID=11795 SEQ=19 Mar 17 07:45:30 phyton kernel: SuSE-FW-OUT-IPv6_PROHIB IN= OUT=eth0 SRC=fe80:0000:0000:0000:4a54:e8ff:fe2a:832f DST=2001:0888:0000:0002:0000:0000:0000:6667 LEN=104 TC=0 HOPLIMIT=64 FLOWLBL=0 PROTO=ICMPv6 TYPE=128 CODE=0 ID=11795 SEQ=20 Mar 17 07:47:36 phyton heartbeat-client: [HB] HEARTBEAT TUNNEL 2001:960:2:14f::2 62.216.9.174 1079506056 19f454554a59a6374292a970f3380f66
I think its not a firewall problem because when i stop the firewall i also cant ping a ipv6 hosts. when i have stop the firewall and ping i see this
ping6 irc.ipv6.xs4all.nl PING irc.ipv6.xs4all.nl(irc.ipv6.xs4all.nl) 56 data bytes From localhost icmp_seq=2 Destination unreachable: Address unreachable From localhost icmp_seq=3 Destination unreachable: Address unreachable
I most also add a password in de heartbeat.conf file what password most i put there ? I have write my pass for sixxs there but i dont know i thats write. Greets Wouter

Did you take a moment to read the included HOWTO ? "SRC=fe80:0000:0000:0000:4a54:e8ff:fe2a:832f" tells me that you didn't read it and didn't setup and configured a tunnel interface. Also trying to ping an IRC server is a stupid idea because most of the times they are firewalled away, next to that IPv6 is not meant for IRC.

Yes i have read the howto and i think ihave setup the heartbeat.conf right. (not sure) os "linux" ipv4_interface "eth0" ipv4_pop "213.204.193.2" ipv6_interface "sit1" ipv6_pop "2001:960:2:14f::1" ipv6_local "2001:960:2:14f::2" ipv6_prefixlen 64 hb_password "sixxspass" hb_sendinterval 60 hb_timeout 300 Are there things wrong in this config ? What did you know if you see SRC=fe80:0000:0000:0000:4a54:e8ff:fe2a:832f because i have done what i have read in the howto...

Did you also read this line from the howto (line 2): 8<--------------------------------------------- - Configure the IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel as normal. --------------------------------------------->8 I guess you have not. As for the configuration, you can get a correct one from the tunnels information page, no doubts about that one.

I think my enhlish is a bit to bad... I have tryed the commands are writing in the OS setup. And that dont work (i understand now why) And ik think to understand that heartbeat is setting up a tunnel, but thats nog treu i have read in a other topic on this forum...

Indeed the unix heartbeat client doesn't do this. The Windows client does all that automatically though. You might want to show what you are trying to do and what goes wrong because with only 'it does not work' nobody has ever been helped, except maybe with answers of 'good for you, now RTFM'.
