500 Quick Blocked from TIC
[gb] Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 15 July 2013 17:44:54
As your logs will show, I have been struggling to get my equipment set up. I have just compiled a build of firmware for my Fonera 2.0N with IPv6 support and am finally in a position to set up my tunnel with a permanent basis. However, AICCU is not enumerating the sixxs interface when the
aiccu start
command is executed, with the following in logread:
Jul 15 17:40:02 Fonera local7.debug syslog: sock_getline() : "500 Quick Blocked from TIC: too many queries. See http://www.sixxs.net/faq/aiccu/?faq=tic" Jul 15 17:40:02 Fonera local7.err syslog: TIC Server is currently not available Jul 15 17:40:02 Fonera local7.err syslog: Couldn't retrieve first tunnel for the above reason, aborting
Could this block be removed please? It is possible my setup may not quite be perfected - if possible could the threshold be temporarily increased - it should be expected to see increased connect attempts when trying to get experimental firmware working! P.S. Before you point me at the release of firmware someone wrote with IPv6 support, they compiled out PPPoE support so it is useless to me!

If you stop hammering the TIC server it will go away automatically.

Do you know why you are being blocked from the TIC server and why your device is connecting to the TIC server too often?

Looking through the log, it appears to quit (before the block came in).

I don't quite understand why AICCU would quit... I'll pick this up again tomorrow.

AICCU quits (exits) because there is nothing left to do for it as you have a static tunnel. Note that most distributions are able to setup static tunnels very easily. It does not explain why you would get Quick Blocked before. Please do check that you are not trying to automatically restart AICCU.

Hmm, either way the sixxs interface does not show up under ifconfig

I think my issue is still firmware on my router... possibly lacking 6in4 support. Rather frustrating that very little is presented in the way of error messages. Block has been lifted (as expected) after waiting overnight; I've just discovered I may be able to use a different router (the one supplied with my broadband) with new firmware to connect, as per: here. I think this ticket can be closed now
