Tunnels sporadic unreachable
[de] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 16 December 2008 21:40:58
Hello, there is a little problem with incoming traffic of tunnels at POP deham01. Tunnel routers at the client side are sporadic unreachable and do not answer echo-requests. You can see this in the statistics graphs too. From December, 05th there is a lot of packet loss.# I have cut off firewalls, re-setup the tunnels with aiccu and with system-internal tool on Linux and FreeBSD. The problem remains constantly. Outgoing traffic is OK all the time. But packets are not shown in statistics graph. Tunnels (different locations, different tunnel type, same POP): T15856 T18523

Tunnels sporadic unreachable

With the large amount of people doing 'smokeping' and other such 'nice' tests, the ICMP rate limits on especially deham01 get hit very frequently, unfortunately there is not much to do about this, except maybe to filter out all these people who are running these automated ICMP tests.
I have cut off firewalls, re-setup the tunnels with aiccu and with system-internal tool on Linux and FreeBSD.
And where is the output of the "Reporting Problems Checklist" on the contact page as clearly requested in the big orange box and in several other places?
Outgoing traffic is OK all the time. But packets are not shown in statistics graph.
There was a problem with the traffic stats collector, that has been resolved now though.
