Unable to connect to IPv6 Addresses
[us] Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 24 December 2011 16:18:49
Hello, I have been having issues with my POP/IPv6 tunnel (T77478). It has been working well for the last three months, however it appears to have stopped connecting (according to the tunnel statistics page) on Dec. 16th. During this time I haven't changed any settings or installed any new programs that would interfere with this. I have tried restarting AICCU, updating the AICCU version to the latest version, restarting PC, rebooting router, resetting the netsh settings and reconfiguring the IPv6 settings, etc. with no luck. AICCU looks as though it is connecting correctly and not reporting any problems that I can identify, however the TAP adapter does not show to be receiving any packets. I am running Win7x64 and unable to perform the AICCU quick test, however I am unable to reach any outside IPv6 addresses such as ipv6.google.com (either via ping or browser). Here is what AICCU is showing when ran: --------------------------------------------- Trying to connect to TIC server tic.sixxs.net sock_getline() : "200 SixXS TIC Service on nlhaa01.sixxs.net ready (http://www.s ixxs.net)" sock_printf() : "client TIC/draft-00 AICCU/2011.12.05-win32 - WinNT/6.1.7601-SP 1" sock_getline() : "200 Client Identity accepted" sock_printf() : "get unixtime" sock_getline() : "200 1324738350" sock_printf() : "username HMV2-SIXXS" sock_getline() : "200 HMV2-SIXXS choose your authentication challenge please" sock_printf() : "challenge md5" sock_getline() : "200 db71f66b999845fcc5cbb6a126331e32" sock_printf() : "authenticate md5 6295af77a8a2ee39681bf635c585e71d" sock_getline() : "200 Successfully logged in using md5 as HMV2-SIXXS (Hayden McN amara)" sock_printf() : "tunnel show T77478" sock_getline() : "201 Showing tunnel information for T77478" sock_getline() : "TunnelId: T77478" sock_getline() : "Type: ayiya" sock_getline() : "IPv6 Endpoint: 2001:4978:f:52d::2" sock_getline() : "IPv6 POP: 2001:4978:f:52d::1" sock_getline() : "IPv6 PrefixLength: 64" sock_getline() : "Tunnel MTU: 1280" sock_getline() : "Tunnel Name: My First Tunnel" sock_getline() : "POP Id: uschi02" sock_getline() : "IPv4 Endpoint: ayiya" sock_getline() : "IPv4 POP: 216.14.98.22" sock_getline() : "UserState: enabled" sock_getline() : "AdminState: enabled" sock_getline() : "Password: 3b6795591e27bec591dde9bc241ecc81" sock_getline() : "Heartbeat_Interval: 60" sock_getline() : "202 Done" Successfully retrieved tunnel information for T77478 sock_printf() : "QUIT Half Day Closing" Tunnel Information for T77478: PoP Id : uschi02 IPv6 Local : 2001:4978:f:52d::2/64 IPv6 Remote : 2001:4978:f:52d::1/64 Tunnel Type : ayiya Adminstate : enabled Userstate : enabled aiccu_setup(2001:4978:f:52d::2, first) Flag: HAS_IFHEAD not present Flag: NEED_IFHEAD not present Error opening registry key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E32 5-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\Properties (t2) Using configured interface sixxs [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\Descriptions.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{2CAA64ED-BAA3-4473-B637-DEC65A14C8AA}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{391A001A-14D3-4AC0-B870-FF9B8A9D667C}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{429E455F-0BA4-4C59-8053-DC3A896DF6BE}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{52F12A6C-355D-4474-984D-39E5DFE68B00}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{5BF54C7E-91DA-457D-80BF-333677D7E316}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{71F897D7-EB7C-4D8D-89DB-AC80D9DD2270}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{78032B7E-4968-42D3-9F37-287EA86C0AAA}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{8E301A52-AFFA-4F49-B9CA-C79096A1A056}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{953A0E09-44D9-4FD6-93F8-52457FB1DBE9}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{9A399D81-2EAD-4F23-BCDD-637FC13DCD51}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{9E4F4C45-E2FA-4CFE-AB8A-C4FF18429816}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{AB886D3A-A2B6-4C9B-ABE8-AE40C33D946F}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{B86CB6EC-F101-422D-85CB-26CC66D712B9}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{C43E8EEE-9D42-47F3-BD50-4C427006FD19}.tap [tun-start] Trying \\.\Global\{C920582F-A7E1-4DE7-A802-9B2F42F6F3BF}.tap [tun-start] TAP-Win32 Driver Version 9.7 aiccu_setup(2001:4978:f:52d::2, other) Flag: HAS_IFHEAD not present Flag: NEED_IFHEAD not present aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 6to4 set state disabled") Ok. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 set teredo disable") Ok. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 isatap set state state=disabled") Ok. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 set subinterface "sixxs" mtu=1280") Ok. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 add address "sixxs" 2001:4978:f:52d::2") The object already exists. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 add route 2001:4978:f:52d::2/64 sixxs") The object already exists. aiccu_os_exec("netsh int ipv6 add route 0::/0 sixxs 2001:4978:f:52d::1 publish=y es") The object already exists. aiccu_os_exec("netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="AICCU: Allow incoming I CMPv6 echo request" protocol=icmpv6:8,any dir=in action=allow") Ok. I am unsure what else to check on this end and believe it may be server related. Any help with this problem would be appreciated. Thank you, Hayden McNamara HMV2-SIXXS hayden.mcnamara@gmail.com

Unable to connect to IPv6 Addresses
[ch] Jeroen Massar SixXS Staff on Saturday, 24 December 2011 17:46:09
AICCU/2011.12.05-win32
There is one newer version (2012.12.12) please upgrade to that one first as that fixes a little time issue in the 5th december release.
I am running Win7x64 and unable to perform the AICCU quick test,
Why are you unable to perform that? Also, please provide interface, routing table details etc as requested by that big yellow box.

Looks like you have a lot of interfaces there which might indicate some strange issue.
Unable to connect to IPv6 Addresses

The current version I have downloaded and ran is the most recent one on the sixxs website. When I download it, it says "aiccu-2011-12-12-windows-console.exe" but when it runs it shows it as the 2011-12-05 version. If there is another link for it, then I do not have it. As for the AICCU quick-test, I have ran AICCU with the "test" parameter as indicated elsewhere and it starts normally. On the troubleshooting page it says "When on a UNIX-alike platform that supports AICCU, please run AICCU and run it using "aiccu test"." Is there a different parameter to run the quick-test for the Windows version? I have not seen it anywhere. Here is the netsh IPv6 routes: ---------------------------------------------------------- Publish Type Met Prefix Idx Gateway/Interface Name ------- -------- --- ------------------------ --- ------------------------ Yes Manual 256 ::/0 12 2001:4978:f:52d::1 No Manual 256 ::1/128 1 Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 No Manual 256 2001:4978:f:52d::/64 12 sixxs No Manual 256 2001:4978:f:52d::2/128 12 sixxs No Manual 256 fe80::/64 12 sixxs No Manual 256 fe80::/64 10 Local Area Connection No Manual 256 fe80::860:35d3:f22a:5f20/128 10 Local Area Connection No Manual 256 fe80::4924:c559:74a:8b19/128 12 sixxs No Manual 256 ff00::/8 1 Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 No Manual 256 ff00::/8 12 sixxs No Manual 256 ff00::/8 10 Local Area Connection ---------------------------------------------------------- As for the other TAP devices, none of them are enabled or installed any longer. And as I said, they were there before as I have not installed or changed anything in the last month so I fail to see how they would become an issue now.

You have the right version, but the binary didn't contain the right version string. Updated.
Is there a different parameter to run the quick-test for the Windows version? I have not seen it anywhere.
You can just run 'aiccu test' from a command prompt.
And as I said, they were there before as I have not installed or changed anything in the last month so I fail to see how they would become an issue now.
I am trying to minimize the amount of problems that can exist, as when everything looks okay then it should be fine. According to the PoP it received the last beat over an hour ago which is almost the same time that you posted your message. Please do keep your client running, otherwise we can't see if anything is wrong on the PoP side.

Okay, I will keep the client running. When I run "aiccu test" at cmd, I get: 'aiccu' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. When I run "aiccu-2011-12-12-windows-console.exe test" at cmd, AICCU just starts up normally.
