nlede01 rejects protocol 41 packets
[ch] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 10 July 2007 18:50:05
I have read and followed the "Reporting Problems" section on the Contact page and am providing the following details for this report based on the list of items stated there: When configuring the tunnel T12105 (of AWE1-SIXXS), I noticed that all test packets to the peer are being rejected at the IPv4 transport layer: whenever sending out packages over the tunnel, I receive: 18:48:00.921280 nlede01.sixxs.net > intranet.sygroup.ch: icmp: nlede01.sixxs.net protocol 41 port 0 unreachable Also, when ping6ing the provided peer address (2001:7b8:2ff:16d::1) from a different IPv6 enabled host, I don't receive any answer. So it appears to me that the peer is not configured appropriately for my tunnel?

That is correct, the tunnel is not configured. You might want to try enabling the tunnel from the web interface as stated in the email you received from the tunnel robot. See the FAQ for more information. Also you might want to fix your dumping tool as there is no such thing as a 'port' for protocol 41. Next to that using '-n' or equivalent is also handy.

I'm sorry; that fixed it. I misjudged the error message for something that could not be taking place at my end.
