Monitoring of tunnel may be defective on frmrs01
[fr] Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 03 April 2009 10:48:33
Hello, I have tunnel T20055 and since March, 29th, I'm receiving daily mails about the connectivity of my tunnel. I'm afraid I can't agree with the mail saying my tunnel is down as I can ping6 it from outside the sixxs network for hours. From freefall.freebsd.org (2001:4f8:fff6::28), I'm pinging every 20s and I have traces for a 1398 packets run (0.1% loss) and a 1703 packets run (0.1% loss again) --- aran.keltia.net ping6 statistics --- 1398 packets transmitted, 1397 packets received, 0.1% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 186.417/187.344/209.763/0.798 ms --- aran.keltia.net ping6 statistics --- 1703 packets transmitted, 1702 packets received, 0.1% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 182.256/184.659/205.344/2.172 ms These account for 7.7h hours and 9.4h continuous runs. How can my tunnel be marked as "down"? I've sent 3 mails without any answer, I'm getting rather frustrated. There was a gap as it was broken for a few days (See the latency page) this has been resolved though. For the rest read Tunnel endpoint didn't ping. Especially notice that we ping your endpoint from <tunnel>::1, not somewhere else on this planet. As such you need to be able to reach that address correctly. Thus check your routing tables. And yes, we have a mailbacklog, can't answer a thousand people at once unfortunately.
