Reverse NS Off-Subnet

There is no reason a reverse DNS server for my subnet has to reside on the subnet, is there?
Can I add an IPv4 NS for reverse DNS for my subnet?
I had been assuming I'd have to migrate to an IPv6-transport NS before I could do reverse DNS, but the other day I suddenly realized there should be no such practical constraint.

The webinterface asks for a hostname, that hostname you can configure to point to as many IPv4 and IPv6 addresses as you want.

There is none indeed, except for the case that a querier is unable to communicate over either IPv4 or IPv6 and your DNS server doesn't offer that transport.
For DNS though, one will have to have IPv4 for quite a few years to come to be able to reach most of the Internet though, so best to set it up for both IPv4 and IPv6.
