Just as I got things worked out I lost my ability to request a subnet. Should I bother leaving this thing connected.

sure, you can still connect to ipv6 sites / hosts fine. but if you were planning on getting other ipv6 hosts to yours then its a little more difficult now.
and im not sure how you lost the ability to request a subnet. don't you have enough ISK or was your request denied?

I did something to crash my computer and it took a couple of weeks to fix it. I will have to cancel my account.
