No Access via IPv6 Tunnel
[us] Shadow Hawkins on Wednesday, 27 May 2015 17:55:10
Hi SIXXS Team, AICCU says that the tunnel is running, but the http://www.test-ipv6.com/ website says I have no IPv6 connectivity. My handle is TSQ19-SIXXS and the tunnel is T166409. The NAT is in my FIOS ActionTec router. I am running Windows 7 Pro all Windows updates are up to date. I am on the current version of Avast Antivirus software and I am using the Windows Firewall. The computer is running on a Wireless connection to the ActionTec router. I am on the current version of Avast Antivirus software and I am using the Windows Firewall.
Ah, Avast... Avast breaks IPv6 You'll have to complete uninstall it, as the hooks they install in the kernel don't support IPv6.

I completely uninstalled Avast, rebooted the machine, and ended up with the same results. Any other ideas?

Are you sure that all the hooks are gone, as those things tend to uninstall really badly. See also here: Remove avast! Firewall NDIS Filter Miniport for how to get rid of the NDIS driver. Oh btw, Avast recommends the contrary: How to disable IPv6 support in your router settings. Because in 2014 removing IPv6 is better than solving the problems, eh Avast... Note that Live Tunnel Status has: Last Heartbeat : 2015-05-27 19:47:46 (1432756066; 0 days 00:00:42 ago) Packet In : 2015-05-21 13:34:11 (1432215251; 6 days 06:14:17 ago) Packet Out : 2015-05-27 19:48:24 (1432756104; 0 days 00:00:04 ago) AYIYA Heartbeats make it, thus that is not filtered. "Packet In" ("in" for the PoP) though is several days ago. These are normal AYIYA packets. As these are not being sent it indicates that something is blocking IPv6 packets on your host. "Packet Out" is recent as that is the PoP pinging your host. You can likely verify this behavior with Wireshark, but one thing is for sure: something on your host is dropping IPv6 packets (as AYIYA heartbeat packets are allowed, hence it is not a hop in the middle).

It seems that I had an older version of OpenVPN install (RC19) that was providing the TAP/TUN adapter. I installed RC22 which automatically uninstalled RC19 and the tunnel fired up just fine and now I have IPv6 connectivity. Yeah!!!!
