Tiscali UK sometimes blocking tic.sixxs.net
[at] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 20 January 2009 16:17:49
Just a general note - if you happen to be using Tiscali UK as your ISP and you are sometimes experiencing problems establishing a IPv6 tunnel, it could be because Tiscali UK is sometimes (in the evening/peak times) blocking connections to tic.sixxs.net (Port 3874). Tiscali has now admitted to this practice in Is Tiscali blocking tic.sixxs.net Port 3874 (even though they claim in their policies that they do not block ports or protocols).

Do please realize that tic.sixxs.net is at the moment at least two IP addresses, you seem to be trying to connect to only one of those. Due to DDoS mitigation, those IP addresses will change over time just to make it hard to track where the service really lives. Next to that, note that the TIC service will stop responding to repeated requests. See the FAQ: TIC is slow or doesn't let me connect! for more details. You should in theory only have to start AICCU once (and thus connect to TIC only once), that is when you boot your computer, and then afterwards never again. How often are you trying to hammer that port and why actually do you need it that often?
