You might have taken a look on the News page where it is mentioned.

From the news page: Wednesday, February 25th - IPng POP external connectivity down Currently the external connectivity of the IPng POP is down due to a broken router at Intouch. The POP itself is reachable and works, only external (intouch to the world) connectivity is affected. This seems to be the cause.

Unfortunatly that is something that got lost because of the downcheck failure and as we don't keep the top uptime but only the 'last dead' time.

I believe this is nothing more than a cunning plan for a certain individual to get to the top of the 'Top 10 highest uptime for SixXS' table! You don't need three guesses as to who is now No. 1 on there :P

If I would want to do that I could just tamper with the stats, no need to let a router crash that is not connected to the SixXS system.

In case you misunderstood me, that comment was written with humour in mind. I appreciate everything that you and SixXS does for everybody here but I couldn't help but respond in some way to the 'your endpoint is down and we will dock credits because of it' and then the subsequent 'sorry, we fscked up, here are your credits back'. Is there any way of implementing some sanity checking into the mass pinging process ? - something like, if over 20% of the people on this POP are unreachable, consider the possibility that the connectivity to the POP itself is screwed ?

In the almost 4 years that the IPng POP has been running it never has had any serious problems and we don't expect it to have any either ;) Technically speaking because the POP's routing was down, the connectivity to the endusers was down thus it didn't ping. As SixXS doesn't handle any routing, which is something the ISP's take care of there is not much we can do about. PS: Most people can read smileys...
