new server, keep old subnet (&tunnel)?
[de] Carmen Sandiego on Saturday, 20 September 2008 14:16:00
Hi, i canceled my server in frankfurt and have a new one in the netherlands now, but want to rent a second server in frankfurt (at another provider) in some weeks or months again. till now i had a tunnel and subnet at the dedus01 POP. i wonder now if i could keep the old tunnel & subnet and let it deactivated till i have a server for this one again, and request a new tunnel for the new server in netherlands now at one of the netherlands POPs, or if i have to delete the old one and request a new one?

Deactivate the old tunnel, request a new one on an Amsterdam POP. When your new server in Germany is ready you can move the endpoint of your old tunnel to the new box and reactivate it.

Hosting somewhere with native IPv6 would be even better btw :-)
