ipv4.sixxs.org - DNS server returned answer with no data
[de] Shadow Hawkins on Friday, 16 May 2008 16:04:55
Hi,... how have the dns replies to look like, for work with ipv4gate? I figured out, that one (ipv6 enabled) site is reachable, another is not. ("DNS server returned answer with no data", even if an AAAA exists.) e.g: http://www.ipv6.org.ipv4.sixxs.org/ = works e.g: http://ipv6.google.com.ipv4.sixxs.org/ = works not "http://ipv6.google.com/ could not be gatewayed over IPv4: Could not gateway IPv4->IPv6: Could not resolve host: ipv6.google.com (DNS server returned answer with no data)." This happens to my own domain, too. But I think, my zonefile looks fine. :-( best regards Stefan --

Hi,... it works again, now. Thanks. :) But i wouldn't like to see those "Webbugs" in the IPv4'ed Pages. I suggest, that there are better and nicer ways to monitor access. Also the "6bone.informatik.uni-leipzig.de" log-script is not responding. That's results in never finishing loading the IPv4'ed Page or in a timeout... best regards Stefan --

Those 'webbugs' are for the IPv6 Webserver statistics. Most likely if it timed out, there was a connectivity issue on their side, that happens sometimes, too bad. Your browser should be more than capable of handling these events. As for the gateway not working for ipv6.google.com, odd, next time open a Ticket and of course provide more details there like browser versions, connectivity type, traceroutes. We do monitor the tickets, but we really don't have time to also follow the forums all the time.
