Should I change my endpoint to dedus01
[ie] Shadow Hawkins on Tuesday, 18 March 2008 18:02:04
With the opening of that new POP (which is 12ms away from me), should I request and change of endpoint, away from deham01 ( which is 20ms). deham01 is currently very loaded, and dedus01 nearly empty. I was offering to do the move just to rebalance the load.

"Very loaded" ? Are there any performance issues with deham01 that nobody is telling the staff about? And really 12ms versus 20ms, now if you where running the Intergalactic World of Unreal Quake Wars Tournament over it, 8ms might be painful, but for anything else, not really. Also, remember that that is just the latency from you to the PoP, you generally talk to the rest of the world which is another couple of hops...

Sorry about the wording, I was just offering a good gesture to help balancing the load. Obviously, a new POP has few tunnels, and it may take years for the load to spread. Currently its 65 vs 2145 tunnels. I have no obvious problems and both routes.
