DOS attack?

In the last 2 days i got o lot of pinging from various nonrepeating addresses going on on the aiccu (Amis) interface - about 5/sec, all from 2001:: addresses. Is this something intended or some kind of DOS service issue? Of course i disabled ping response :-) Marius

Seems Akamai is doing latency tests or something that is going afoul. I've contacted the ops folks there, lets see what they say about this.

I've topped that by temporary filtering your ICMPv6 on the PoP side till we know what it is.

Okay, it is a Akamai latency test, they are still tuning the thing a bit it seems. They are changing the algorithm soonish to not ping the tunnel end-points any more but just the PoP as that determines the best path/latency already for them.
