Test still showing IPv4
[gb] Shadow Hawkins on Wednesday, 25 May 2011 15:52:24
Any help gratefully received. IPv6Calc is still showing my firewalls external v4 IP. The AICCU client appears to be logging me in fine and allowing the tunnel selection (I only have one) but the 'Test' button is greyed out (is that significant?) I have a tap created ok too: C:\utils>aiccuconsole.exe listtaps [warning] Couldn't open registry key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D 36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\ComponentId (t2/2 vs 0/1960 vs 1) Available TAP-WIN32 adapters [name, type, GUID]: 'Local Area Connection 8' tap0901 {99F5C752-47EC-44C6-886F-0D5DA2D1C965} Although it always shows with a redX in XP as disconnected.... should I be configuring its name into the aiccu.conf file? I did try adding its name as in interface but made no difference. Thinking I have maybe requested the wrong type of tunnel? All pointers received with thanks.

'Local Area Connection 8' tap0901 {99F5C752-47EC-44C6-886F-0D5DA2D1C965}
Good that you included that, and the notion of 'buttons', as the above line shows that you are using the v9 Tun/Tap driver, this while the 'buttons' mean you are using the GUI edition. Unfortunately the GUI edition does not support the v9 driver. Thus you either remove that and then install the v8 driver together with the GUI edition, or you use the console version of AICCU which supports both the v8 and v9 Tun/tap driver. As you see the console edition sees the driver, thus if you just use 'start' instead of 'listtaps' it should work ;) [requires admin privs of course]

Thanks Jeroen for the response and for pointing out my silly mistake... If only I had paid attention to what I had read about the driver compatibility haha I will retry later and let you know. Thanks again. Colin

Hate making making dumb mistakes for not reading properly!
It is not a mistake, the software should be fixed, hopefully I can make time for this really soon.
