tunnel behaviour during scheduled downtime?
[de] Shadow Hawkins on Monday, 01 September 2003 09:49:57
hi everyone, my system is going to a maintenance scheduled downtime in the night from sept. 5th to sept. 6th. - downtime will be approx. 2 hours for hardware upgrades. should i disable the tunnel during that time, or just let it enabled? there will be no interface assigned to my tunnel-ip4, so no pakets go to the wrong person. also, i currently am unsure if my sixxs tunnel-device is brought up again after a system reboot with another kernel-version. i can of course set it right away, but i might need to fix other things first, so the tunnel might be down until morning of sept. 6th. would that be a problem? sincerely, sebastian lechte

For 'safety' just disable it that is the crrect way. Otherwise the traffic for your endpoint and subnet are going to be sent uselessly over the internet anyways. Proactive disabling doesn't cost credits, but if you don't do that...
