What exactly does the disable Subnet function do?

Hello, I was just wondering what the disable subnet function does in our control panel unders our subnet. I disabled it and I am still able to use ips from within the subnet. Is it for tracking purposes? Thanks.

It disables the subnet so that the PoP doesn't route it anymore over the tunnel. Do note that the PoPs only synchronize every once in a while, as such disabling it is not instantanious. In effect it is not very useful as when you have a subnet you most likely want to use it anyway.
