SIXXs web-traceroute truncates long IPv6 Adresses
[ch] Shadow Hawkins on Thursday, 21 January 2010 11:21:22
Hello, when I use https://www.sixxs.net/tools/traceroute/ to trace back to my IPv6 machines, some of the IPv6 addresses are truncated (from the right side). This might be only an aesthetic issue, but I have discovered that the truncated address is used for the reverse DNS lookup. So for my router address on the subnet (which is PREFIX::0), the reverse DNS works ok, but not for the machines in the subnet that generate their IP-Adress from the RA and the phyisical Address (so no :: shortcut) Any plans to fix this? Nicolas
