Hi,
Is there an option to create an AYIYA tunnel directly between two hosts (clients) or is it always through a POP (which means all tunneled traffic must go through the POP)?

First, try OpenVPN with tap interfaces. I think it is the easiest solution.

I have two hosts with static IP addresses and I have sit (ipv6 in ip) tunnel between them. I was even able to encrypt the tunnel with IPsec using static shared secret (I have never had enough time to properly set up racoon).
