Windows Vista Dual Stack AAAA DNS query
![]()
Hi all,
i've set up my vista 64bit on the lan with aiccu and an ipv6 ping works and putting an ipv6 address in IE works too.
But if I want to do something useful with IPv6, like surfing to my ipv6 enabled website via IE or FF, I never see the application/operating system asking both A and AAAA queries. They only send out ipv4 A queries.
good 'old nslookup does query A and AAAA records.
Is this normal behaviour for so called 'ipv6 enabled' applications such as IE?
Cheers,
Maarten.

ok,it seems problem was posted here a couple of times before. my apologies
trick is to configure a 'dummy ipv6' address on a 'real' NIC like your wireless or ethernet network connection.
