ipv6 multicast subscription canceling problem

I have got sixxs ipv6 multicast radio working with freeamp-v6, but it seems that multicast subscription isn't canceled after I close freeamp. I compiled ecmh with debug it shows following: syslog: Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Easy Cast du Multi Hub (ecmh) 2004.01.11 by Jeroen Massar <jeroen@unfix.org> Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Running as PID 15878 Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Updating Interfaces Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added br0, link 5, hw ether/1 with an MTU of 1500, linklocal: fe80::240:5ff:fea6:fdd Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added eth0, link 3, hw ether/1 with an MTU of 1500, linklocal: fe80::240:5ff:fea6:fdd Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added eth1, link 4, hw ether/1 with an MTU of 1500, linklocal: fe80::260:8cff:feb7:56b0 Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added sixxs, link 11, hw sit/776 with an MTU of 1280, linklocal: fe80::50de:98b0 Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added ip6t2, link 8, hw sit/776 with an MTU of 1480, linklocal: fe80::50de:98b0 Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: Added ip6t1, link 7, hw sit/776 with an MTU of 1480, linklocal: fe80::50de:98b0 Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: *** Updating Interfaces - done Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: *** Sending MLD Queries Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: *** Sending MLD Queries - done Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: No subscriptions for ff3e:3c:3ffe:8114:2000:240:8008:ad10 (sent by 3ffe:8114:2000:240:290:27ff:fe24:c19f) Feb 2 16:33:24 irto ecmh: No subscriptions for ff3e:3c:3ffe:8114:2000:240:8008:ad10 (sent by 3ffe:8114:2000:240:290:27ff:fe24:c19f) -- strip many of these lines Feb 2 16:39:43 irto ecmh: No subscriptions for ff3e:3c:3ffe:8114:2000:240:8008:ad10 (sent by 3ffe:8114:2000:240:290:27ff:fe24:c19f) Feb 2 16:39:43 irto ecmh: No subscriptions for ff3e:3c:3ffe:8114:2000:240:8008:ad10 (sent by 3ffe:8114:2000:240:290:27ff:fe24:c19f) -- at this point I started freeamp and closed it Feb 2 16:43:09 irto ecmh: Ignoring MLDv1 Reduction for ^Q on interface eth0 Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: *** Timeout Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: Updating Interfaces Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: *** Updating Interfaces - done Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: *** Sending MLD Queries Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: *** Sending MLD Queries - done Feb 2 16:43:24 irto ecmh: *** Timeout - done Feb 2 16:44:01 irto ecmh: Dumped statistics into /var/run/ecmh.dump Feb 2 16:44:45 irto ecmh: Last update was 302 seconds ago -> resending /var/run/ecmh.dump: *** Subscription Information Dump Group: ff3e:3c:3ffe:8114:2000:240:8008:ad10 Interface: sixxs :: (258 seconds old) Interface: eth0 :: (132 seconds old) *** Subscription Information Dump (end - 1 groups, 2 subscriptions) *** Interface Dump Interface: br0 Index : 5 MTU : 1500 LL : fe80::240:5ff:fea6:fdd Interface: eth0 Index : 3 MTU : 1500 LL : fe80::240:5ff:fea6:fdd Interface: eth1 Index : 4 MTU : 1500 LL : fe80::260:8cff:feb7:56b0 Interface: sixxs Index : 11 MTU : 1280 LL : fe80::50de:98b0 Interface: ip6t2 Index : 8 MTU : 1480 LL : fe80::50de:98b0 Interface: ip6t1 Index : 7 MTU : 1480 LL : fe80::50de:98b0 *** Interface Dump (end - 6 interfaces) *** Statistics Dump Version : ecmh 2004.01.11 Started : 2004-02-02 14:33:24 GMT Uptime : 0 days 00:10:37 Interfaces Monitored : 6 Groups Managed : 1 Total Subscriptions : 2 Packets Received : 20938 Packets Sent : 2561 Bytes Received : 15151801 Bytes Sent : 2816111 *** Statistics Dump (end) So is it freeamp-v6 fault that subscription isn't canceled or ecmh ?

Where is that mentioned or am I blind? And is there any way to get rid of that multicast traffic. I'm now receiving > 128kbps unnecessary multicast traffic.

The item "Timing issues" mentions it very briefly. The POPs of SixXS have been running the fixed code for over a week now thus those will unsubscribe after the timeout (5 minutes) is reached and no new subscriptions are sent.

Quite strange that I'm receiving multicast traffic after 8h of last subscription. Last time it took also many hours that multicast traffic stops.

Now after 2 days when I shutdown ecmh, I still get multicast traffic on tunnel T864.

Are you sure that your host is not sending replies back requesting a subscription?
