Hi all,
I've been developing my own IPv6 firewall and in order to test it I created a simplistic TCP port scanner - if anyone wishes to try the Port scanner then please head to my tester..

Tim,
I just tried it and it works fine but it's limited to only test my workstation.
May I suggest to add an address field so that other IP addresses (in the same /48 subnet) can be tested? My severs are running on different IPv6 addresses.

Thanks for your suggestion. My only concern with widening the scan range is to prevent people scanning machines that they don't own/administer/use (at least one ISP I know of is allocating /56 address ranges)? I'm open to any suggestions of how this might be achieved.
Another option would be for me to provide a text-browser compatible scanner that would be accessible from servers using lynx or w3m?

Hi Tim,
At that point I don't have a better suggestion. Must be a cheap ISP while at the same time we get /48 subnets for free.
It may become to complicated, but a whois for my network gives:
% Information related to '2001:1af8:feb8::/48'
inet6num: 2001:1af8:feb8::/48
netname: SIXXS-NET-MBH15-SIXXS

Last august we had a mail conversation after which i installed your Port Scanner on my home-server..
Some days ago i've upgraded it to the latest git and it seems to run just fine to me.
