bind9 slow resolving
[be] Shadow Hawkins on Saturday, 02 September 2006 14:40:44
Hi, i recently setup my ipv6 tunnel & subnet and is going great. Only have 1 little problem and that is when i setup my bind9 to use ipv6 the resolving of any host is slowed down dramatically (sometimes 5 seconds). With ipv6 disabled normally everythin gets resolved within 200ms. I have googled for this and i've found others that have the same problem with it, but i haven't found a solution for it. Are there any solutions for this? If not what software could i use in combination with bind to let my local clients resolve (then i can use the bind just to host my domain, and let the clients use a diff ns/dns proxy to resolve) Jeroen by the way .... i'm running bind9.3.2 EDIT: problem moved to routing issue between bebru01 and ipv6 enabled nameservers for .org .net .com ...... (ticket has been created)
dnsmasq? bind9 slow resolving

dnsmasq seems to handle ipv6 requests, but it can be a pain to configure. http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html
