Quake2 IPv6

I know it's totally useless, but I have managed to program an IPv6-aware version of Quake 2 B-) Dunno if anyone is interested but the preliminary version (for linux i386 and solaris 32-bit sparc) can be found at: ftp://ftp.no-sense.net/pub/Quake2 No source codes available yet, but they will be soon, as well as the Window$ port. Have fun! (or not ;) )

Check: http://www.viagenie.qc.ca/en/ipv6/quake/ipv6-quake.shtml And: http://www.viagenie.qc.ca/en/ipv6/quake2/ipv6-quake2.shtml Quake 1 and 2 already running for quite some time.... use the google ;) There was a box running both Q1 & Q2 here in .nl but the hardware died :( But porting it does make one aware of the many things one has to keep up with when doing an IPv6 version, like multicasting announcing the local servers etc instead of broadcasting.

Care to make a server again ? I am not into quake 2 much, but I am running a quake 3 server for quite some time now (>1 year). Only thing is, I am in the prosess of getting me a IPv6 tunnel and subnet, so that should take a while before I can put up a Quake 2 server (IPv6 enabled). But should be fun to do it.
