Any experiences with IPv6 and bookmyname?
[at] Shadow Hawkins on Wednesday, 05 August 2009 12:09:12
Hi, Anybody set already an IPv6 glue with the bookmyname.com registrar? According to [1] IPv6 glues are supported. Therefor I transfered my domain nobaq.net to bookmyname.com in order to set an IPv6 glue. But unfortunately this does not seem to work. According to whois, the nameservers are set correctly:
$ whois nobaq.net [...] Name Server:NS.NOBAQ.NET 2001:7b8:3cd:3::171,93.83.102.171 Name Server:SLAVE.NOBAQ.NET 2001:1418:1e9::1,62.99.247.88 [...]
But there is no AAAA record in the TLD servers but the A records work:
$ dig @a.gtld-servers.net. ns.nobaq.net. -t A +short 93.83.102.171 $ dig @a.gtld-servers.net. ns.nobaq.net. -t AAAA +short $
I already waited for a couple of days but because I am querying the servers directly, the entries should somehow appear in "realtime" anyway, shouldn't they? Regards, Niki [1] https://www.sixxs.net/faq/dns/?faq=ipv6glue

Hi, The solution is: Use Home > Manage > Register your DNS servers (hosts) to the registry instead of Home > Manage > Change your domain names DNS The latter one will only update the IPv4 glues. Regards, Niki
