Sunsetting SixXS: 2017-06-07 https://www.sixxs.net/news/ tag:news.sixxs.net,03-23 Thu, 23 Mar 2017 00:00:00 +0000 We have announced our plan for the SixXS Sunset on 2017-06-06.

All active users will have by now received an email with a pointer to the plan and various news outlets and mailinglists have also been informed and are helping in disseminating the information that after 18 years of operation SixXS is being sunset.

We have also announced this on our @tweetsix Twitter account, please re-tweet so that the information is well spread.

We hope, by doing the Call Your ISP for IPv6 action for the last year and giving people another 10 weeks to migrate that we have provided people with enough time to Call their ISP and ask for Native IPv6. We also hope that you did actively Call Your ISP and that your ISP has, after IPv6 existing for more than 20 years, taken up on actually deploying IPv6.

Please read our write up and spread the word that at 2017-06-06 the sun sets for the last time for SixXS by pointing people to: https://sixxs.net/sunset/.

The sunset article contains the rationale, accomplishments, timeline and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

Kindest Regards,
Jeroen Massar & Pim van Pelt (SixXS founders)

Happy two-thousand--and-(ipv6+1)-teen! https://www.sixxs.net/news/ tag:news.sixxs.net,01-01 Sun, 01 Jan 2017 00:00:00 +0000 SixXS wishes everybody a happy and fruitful 2017!

IPv6 is growing out of it's teeny years, and is already a European Adult (18+) and this year will be of drinking age even in the USA (21+, for most states)

SixXS will continue doing the Call-Your-ISP-For-IPv6 action through 2017.

If your ISP still does not have IPv6 in 2016, you really should consider changing ISP.

For more details about the Call-Your-ISP-For-IPv6 action, please read our News article about "Call Your ISP for IPv6!".

As in all other years, in case of questions, comments or problems don't hesitate to contact us.
