AcknowledgmentsNext to the ISP's that provide the PoPs, the SixXS project uses many existing and well-known software products which we would have had to create if it didn't exist before and wasn't available to us. Amongst others we really would like to thank the following organizations/products (in alphabetical order):
OCCAID
OCCAID is responsible for the SixXS USA Deployment project which provides all the current PoPs in the USA. http://www.occaid.org
Concepts ICT
They provide the hardware, connectivity and bandwidth for both noc.sixxs.net and nlams01.sixxs.net, the first being our central server, the second is the host that also runs the IPv6Gate. http://www.concepts-ict.nl
CAcert
CAcert is the organisation which enables everyone to have a free SSL certificate. http://www.sixxs.net
Debian
A great distribution, which we use on the central machine and varous PoPs. http://www.debian.org
FamFamFam Silk Icons
SixXS Staff are no designers, fortunately there are people who are and who are then also really good at it. Mark James is one of these people and he created the Silk icon set, which is free to use. http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/
Tor
For providing anonimity for people who want it, but also allowing people to detect it who can't accept anonymous users, eg us who need to do proper abuse reporting. SixXS provides a distributed Tor Mirror. (Tor Mirror List) http://www.torproject.org |
