After writing the djbdns article I realized there were several things I didn't know and may be wrong about others.

Questions

  • Will unpatched tinydns (udp connection) bind to and serve on an IPv6 address?
  • Will an unpatched dnscache query IPv6 servers?
  • Same questions for patched builds

Testing

I was going to install an unpatched djbdns per DJB's instructions on an OpenVZ VE with IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity and see what I could do. However I have since decided it's time to migrate to another DNS server as djbdns isn't IPv6-transport-friendly in my opinion. I've happily used djbdns for years for IPv4, but I think it's time for me to move on. JNN2-SIXXS 21:40, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
